“The customer is the final filter. What survives the whole process is what people wear. I’m not interested in making clothes that end up in some dusty museum”- Marc Jacobs

Amen! I echo your words, Marc Jacobs. I’m all about making clothes that my customers love and adore. I’m probably over my head but I’d like to think I’m creating my customer’s future favourite outfit.

Talking about customers, my fourth client is Riya Devadiga. She is the most amazing person I have ever met in my life. She is humble, bold, wise, kind and did I mention drop-dead gorgeous.  She is an actress and just completed her third movie in the Kannada film industry.

When I called her up to ask if she would like to be a part of my 100 Happy Customers, she was so happy and excited to be part of it that we met the very next day to discuss her likes and personality.

Here is a gist of what she said:

Likes:  Something unique, bold colours (red and navy blue), geometrically patterns, floral prints and loves accessories.

Personality:  A very committed, calm, fun and kind hearted person, bold when the situation requires her to be and very wise for her age.

After our little interview, I decided to do two outfits for her one showing her fun nature and one showing her bold nature.  For the first outfit, I decided to do floral printed coordinates keeping in mind about what she had briefed me. She loves floral so I picked this amazing multicoloured printed fabric which also has bold colours that compliment her skin tone.

I concentrated more on the fit and neckline for this outfit.

For my second outfit, I wanted to give her a glamours look but also have everything she loves. I concentrated on the cut-out geometrical neckline, some embellishment around the neckline and the crossover skirt detail to showcase her toned legs. She wanted something unique and bold, do you think I delivered?

Well, I don’t know about you but Riya absolutely loved both the looks. She was not the only one who was happy; I was over the moon seeing her fall in love with the clothes I designed.

Riya, I absolutely loved designing for you. Thank you so much for believing in me and letting me do this for you. I wish you all the success in the world, love you lots.
